Jim, i take some exception to the idea inflation doesn't exist now. in fact, i see both massive inflation and deflation existing at the same time. inflation: stock market, commodities, (bubbles being created) deflation: housing (bubble popping) it is a bizarre scenario in a way, but not unexpected. most of the trillions are being handed out to a very few people, so very few people decide where they want to put their money. oh, and the rest of the world is now seriously grumbling about giving more money to the united states. this is sending rates higher. we've spent somewhere on the order of a trillion bucks and rates are a full point higher than their target. in summation, that isn't a tail on the united states of america, that is a fork stuck in our *ss. we are one. it isn't a question of if the fuze will be lit, rather, the fuze has already been lit and the only question is how longs the fuze takes to burn.
