Jim, i take some exception to the idea inflation doesn't exist now. in fact, i see both massive inflation and deflation existing at the same time.

inflation: stock market, commodities, (bubbles being created)

deflation: housing (bubble popping)

it is a bizarre scenario in a way, but not unexpected.

most of the trillions are being handed out to a very few people, so very few people decide where they want to put their money.

oh, and the rest of the world is now *seriously* grumbling about giving more money to the united states. this is sending rates higher. we've spent somewhere on the order of a trillion bucks and rates are a full point higher than their target.

in summation, that isn't a tail on the united states of america, that is a fork stuck in our *ss.

we are one. it isn't a question of if the fuze will be lit, rather, the fuze has already been lit and the only question is how longs the fuze takes to burn.
