Frank, you keep choosing the wrong companies to compare to Iomega. Actually, of course, it is MU that is the one product company. It is MU making a commodity item, not Iomega.

And, of course, Iomega is not GIVING away Zip drives. They make a profit on every one they sell. They will be able to reduce the price to $99 as they ramp up production and pay off the development and product launch costs.

If you must find a company to compare to Iomega, try the HP printer division.

1. They OWN the printer market: Huge sales, Market dominance, New products released every year, Great name recognition, etc.

2. They got there by being FIRST to market with a great product.

3. There is a consumable item that goes with the product.
