I am puzzled that you seem to think that I am using your profession against you. It might be useful for you to think about why you feel so defensive about this.

You also seem determined to veer the conversation into something completely unrelated, something that if you bother to read my post with any degree of care would answer your questions. I have never denigrated the effort that Americans gave in the military service. Though I have surely registered my opposition against US policies.

I also do not condemn as readily as you, those that have protested US actions. If you are somehow saying that Jane Fonda spit on troops and called them baby killers, then this is the first I have heard of that allegation. Even you know that is not true, so why attempt to muddy an already difficult chapter in America's history.

I take it then that you would be perfectly happy to still be continuing the prosecution of that war. Or do you denounce that effort as a waste of dreadful proportions. There is little more moving than The Wall, and the intensely personalized sense of loss that we as a nation have endured. It was a terrible betrayal of life on the altar of bad policy. A policy that has had no effect on the outcome of that region today.

As to the issue of Clinton, I guess that I have been mistaken. I thought that you were one of his detractors with regard to the Monica Lewinsky matter. I must have you confused with some one else. I can see that you must have reserved your judgement until all of the facts are known.
