I agree with all that you said John. Both companies have long term potential as man must turn to new sources of nutrients, chemical compounds and fuels. With regard to the timeline for AQSE I think there are some things you didn't touch on that may be relevent. I also live in Kona, and one thing that I know, and I'm sure you do too, is that Hawaii is extreamly politicized when it comes to business. Permits can indeed take years, many years, to obtain. That is unless one has the right connections with "The Machine." I'm thinking the new relationship with C. Brewer, and Doc Byers in particular may well just bode well for fast tracking AQSE's operation in Ka'u. That district has been very hard hit after the demise of the sugar industry. Hawaii in general is in desperate need of diversified agri/aquaculture. Also, 1998 is an election year. I have a feeling that Cyatano will be doing all that he can to bolster his parties imagae with regard to promoting new and inovative business, especially on the Big Island. If the C. Brewer land is ready for the start-up of facilities, my bet is we will see production before the end of 1997. In any case, I'm in both AQSE and CYAN and intend on hanging on, and adding when I can for the long term. |
