seriously though, i agree with your point...

i have pondered why we haven't seen more suicide bombings in the UK and the US and have concluded that apart from the original 9/11 bombers, al quaida and its offshoots rely on local, uneducated, unintelligent individuals to blow themselves up...

it takes a certain level of sophistication to get a passport and travel, and the homegrown version of the islamists are less likely to kill themselves (at least purposely)

they like the good life too much

that said, it does seem inevitable that as the more radicalized elements in the west become more impotent, they will resort to more desperate means of personal jihad
