Wolfowitz Moves to AEI
WASHINGTON WIRE WSJ
In Global

It's official. Paul Wolfowitz, forced out of the World Bank amid a staff revolt in part over a pay scandal involving his girlfriend, is now a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise, a platform that gives him a voice in public policy.

AEI said Wolfowitz plans to focus his research on as entrepreneurship and development issues, public-private partnerships and Africa, a top priority and a frequent destination for Wolfowitz when he was at the World Bank. Wolfowitz, who officially left the World Bank on Saturday, was succeeded By Robert Zoellick, President Bush's former U.S. trade representative and deputy secretary of state.

Right from the start, Wolfowitz had been a controversial pick to head the World Bank because of his role in the Iraq war when he was deputy defense secretary. AEI noted Wolfowitz's "interest in development issues, which dates back to his doctoral dissertation on water desalination in the Middle East."
