When we go on ski trips to various resorts we usually drive. The dress and accompanying over coats/sweaters hang with it on a hanger in the car. Since we tend to eat out at a different restaurant every night, no one knows it's the only going out to dinner dress I bring along. I usually end up doing a one hour dry cleaning for it and hubby's dinner jacket at least once during our trips.

The velvet really does travel well.
