The immigration quotas for most European countries are high and rarely filled
You must indeed be American to believe that immigration is a function of unfilled quotas only.
Where did I say that? I said that the unfilled quotas are an example of a lack of interest. I know what I talk about.
Excuse me, I have had a number of German friends work here in the US. While its not simply a matter of picking up and moving, its not nearly impossible.
Getting an E2 non-immigrant visa is fairly easy if you are able to invest an aggregated 300-400k$ or so.
You're telling me that all the Filipinos and Mexicans who are filling their quotas have $300-400k to spend on immigration? Sorry but I will have to see a link.
Common people need close relatives in the US to have any chances at all. Or they must find a US citizen to marry.
"According to the INS, legal immigration in 2000 was 849,807, coming mainly from Mexico (173,919), China (45,652), the Philippines (42,474), India (42,096), and Vietnam (26,747). Together, these five countries accounted for 40 percent of all legal immigration."

So you think recent European immigration has dropped off because they can't afford the $300k fees. Above are the most recent immigration figures for the US that I could find.......clearly non European, poorer nations dominate those totals.
And you want me to believe that the reason is because they have more money than Europeans, or they have more relatives here or they have married an American. And that somehow they are able to pull off one of those criteria but the Europeans can't.
