Since you are getting server down or not responding messages you probably have a routing problem between you and the sites you are trying to reach. This happens with my cable connection sometimes and there's nothing you can do about it. Try running a traceroute or ping to those sites to see if you can identify the bottleneck. It could be a problem with your dsl provider leaving their hub.

Use a ms-dos prompt and make it look like this.

C:\WINDOWS>tracert iwindsurf.com

If you have stars in the columns three numbers listed for the hops it's their problem. It will probably clear up or you may have to call your provider and complain.

To ping for packet loss substitute "ping" (without quotes) for the tracert above.
