Our city has evolved into a traffic nightmare due to it being so spread apart. We limiting height to accommodate mother natures earth quakes and the consequence was we have grown very accustomed to driving a couple of hours or more a day to get to and from work.

We do have diamond lanes that are jammed in traffic. My own thoughts lean more towards a mono rail built ontop of our existing freeway structure. To get the land to build the commuting trains is block buster number one as the cost of the land ontop of our electric problems could very well put CA into Chapter 11. vbg

We do have to re adjust but it is going to be slow. Twenty years ago property prices were in reach of many people here in LA. Each year the prices increased and a greater distance between home and work place formed.

Once the publics adjusts to the fact it is necessary to have train for access into a certain areas and bus depots for more specific drop offs it will happen.

We here in California have this small problem of ignoring problems until they are full blown. A few years of clogged freeways and three hour trips to work and from work will help .
