Ashlee's view is a bit far-fetched IMO. Associating for example IBM's fortune with Opteron looks way beyond simply exaggerated (btw, didn't Sun kind of open-source SlowLaris as well as emphasizing their Opteron-based servers?!) - while Opteron may make a bit of a difference, I wouldn't believe the impact to be as dramatic as the article suggests...
