technetium, would you be willing to reconsider this decision and have the 2024 contest start as usual on the first trading day of the year if the majority of participants support this? Participants would still have 3 full days from now to work out their portfolios.

I find a January 7 start awkward, particularly insofar as certain biotech companies typically release market-moving news during the first few days of January.
