Alot of pension and mutual funds have silly rules that require companies to post dividends in order to invest. Digging for pennies in the couch never got me anywhere.

I'm convinced that Compaq lowballed this thing, in order to bust through lower expectations. A sound strategy considering they can now leverage their future prospects with the Digital deal in the pocket or so says Earl Mason.

Any word on the conference call with Dell's CFO?

I'm happy we stayed above the 25 dollar a share barrier, however psychological that may be.

The news on non-Intel chips gaining market share doesn't surprise when you visit computer retailers the ubiquity of Intel is not what it used to be. I view Compaq as most fully diversified pc play out there with great sub-1000's from Cyrix and AMD, and in the future a reinvigorated Alpha line on the high end. Intel will still control that very lucrative middle but under increasing pressure on both sales and margin.
