I'm sorry Steve, but a LOT of economists, including Krugman, saw the housing bubble happening and knew it would end badly. I saw it, sold my bubble house in CA near the top, and pocketed 5x it's mortgage value, tax free (minus what I owed on the mortgage). I bought an equivalent house outright in SLC (where no bubble was happening) for cash, with plenty left over. youtube.com The Austrians are a bunch of cranks pimped by Libertarians and Republicans, but not taken seriously by REAL economists.
