ISCA, WAG and subject of earnings plays. I got 4 e-mail this weekend from research websites who feel as you do about the potential in playing on earnings reports both before and after the stock reports.. Seems to me it should have been realized a few years ago. Trouble is that it is deceptively simple. It requires lots of research both fundamental and technical to weed out the companies that are both financially strong yet have not run up so much as to be a bad candidate for earnings plays. There are only about 100 companies or so that made my list for both January and February. From those a few are just not performing well technically and others ISCA WAG have performed so well that they seem to overbought to consider. I am now left with about 70 potentials and from those about 50% are reporting in january and 50% in February giving me a good spread to work with. What I then do is 'papertrade' these and see what happens to them in the light of their overbought status.. All this helps me with future earnngs plays. In fact this is the first season that I am following pretty 'unfollowed' stocks like JOCB and ZQK and noting they do very well indeed.
