S. Jobs at CAUSE98 offered no major news. Positive news is being presented at the confernece in the form of demos of macs running latest versions of Oracle Financials applications products and SCT (Systems Computer Technology) apps via Mac Runtime for Java version 2.1(beta). Approx 3800 Higher Ed IT managers at this conference. Oracle Financials and SCT are major app vendors to the Higher Ed market. Overall this was a very good showing of the ability of the Mac to continue to be a viable option for Higher Ed admin and academic applications. SCT and Oracle seem to be solid partners with Apple on all this. Bill Barry @ Cause98 in Seattle.
