EDGE alive or dead?

Scott NC: Hello Andy, you have stated before that EDGE is dead. Is that still your opinion? Also, I've been told that GSM carriers in the states
will try to implement EDGE on the downlink and GPRS on the uplink before the end of the year. Is that your understanding? One last note,
Tropian claims their "Timestar" is the only RF chipset to support EDGE's higher order modulation. Have you investigated their claims?

Andrew Seybold: Scott- EDGE is alive and well--at least that is what I am told--I don't know about the GPRS uplink part of your question but
will ask--I will believe EDGE when I see a full blown network up and running--not just one or two sites--a whole network with lots of end-user
devices--until then I am still in "show me" mode
