Imw,
It appears to me that there is no info on what Wooddy has been up to since June 1997. The assignment in Papua New Guinea seems to be the last thing he was into. See below. Two separate articles.
NEW YORK, Sept 15 (Reuter) - American International
Petroleum Corp Monday named Dale Wooddy, formerly of Chevron
Corp , as president of its subsidiary in Kazahkstan.
American International is exploring a 4.7 million acres
field some 80 kilometers south of the Tengiz oil field in the
former Soviet republic, a spokesman said. He said Wooddy is
taking a newly-created postion and that the company "expects to
have oil in the pipeline by in the first quarter of 1998."
Wooddy most recently worked as Chevron's general manager of
operations in Papua New Guinea but also served as Chevron's
manager of its operations at the Tengiz oil field.
International Petroleum Corp. (NASDAQ:AIPN.O), announced today that it
has named Mr. L. Dale Wooddy III, the former Chevron general manager
of operations of the Tengiz Oilfield, as president of American
International Petroleum Corp.-Kazakstan, a wholly owned subsidiary
of American International Petroleum Corp.
Wooddy's experience within the oil industry spans over 17 years
primarily with Chevron Oil Co. During his period with Chevron,
Wooddy worked on both domestic and international assignments
culminating as general manager of operations of Chevron Nuigini Pty,
Ltd. until June 1997.
"Early planning and experience in Kazakstan and the surrounding
CIS countries is critical to the successful development of our
project," said Company Chairman, Dr. George Faris. "Mr. Wooddy's
leadership and proven abilities to manage projects of this magnitude
greatly enhances the company's ability to achieve its goals in
Kazakstan."
"I look forward to the challenge of managing this incredibly
exciting project," said Mr. Wooddy, "Any one of the numerous
structures identified on our License could possibly become a
world-class oil or gas field."
In 1992, Wooddy was appointed general manager of operations for
Tengizchevroil, Chevron's 50% joint venture with the Kazakstan
government responsible for operating the Tengiz field which is
located 80 miles north west of the company's concession. Wooddy led
the team responsible for the planning and development of this 8
billion bbl field from its original production of 90,000 bpd to over
200,000 bpd as of this date. From 1993 to December 1996, Wooddy
became responsible for overall management of all field activities
including drilling, process and facilities engineering, plant and
field operations, maintenance, field finance, and office
administrative support activities. Wooddy was responsible for all
work plans, budgets, financial objectives, contracting plans, and
personnel issues for a workforce of about 2,700. From January 1996
to June 1997, Wooddy was general manager of operations for Chevron
in Papua New Guinea and led a force of 1,000 people for the
development and production of three oil and gas fields with 800
million barrels of reserves and daily production of 140,000 barrels
of oil and 180 million cubic feet of gas.
This creates Just a little doubt that he is a pointman. I think they will go after the highest bidder or should I say lowest as in the one who will ask for the least. Either way we WIN, WIN , WIN in this situation.
