Just kidding. The caps lock, num lock, and scroll lock each toggle a bit in a data area that's read by the bios. There used to be DOS TSR programs that would let you monitor these bits and cause strange and wonderful things to happen. I'll look around and see if I can latch on to a Windows version. Now that you mention it, I should have done it long ago as I never use the caps lock either.
