So it appears that HDR(1xEV) with its field trials of 2.4 Mbps announced this week (Sony,Kyo,QCOM and Cisco) is seven years ahead Europe (2007).

Very soon we should start to hear how EU who once had a lead in "cellular phones" is falling further behind in wireless internet as they try to catch up with 30Kbps GPRS.

Whe EU starts to see other countries like Vietnam have a more a capable wireless internet service they might start to think twice about NOK's and ERICY's recommended transition plan of GPRS,Edge and w-cdma.

EU Service operators will need to foot the bill for NOK's grand vision. HDR will provide EU operators with alternatives to use both existing and new spectrum much differently, while maximizing their gsm investment.
