Good to hear that the iPod came out of the wash still working. If you dry electronics out with rice, as you did, a lot of the time they recover.

BTW, don't know if I mentioned it or not, but we took Lilly to the vet for a well pet check. She was pronounced healthy. We (Erika and I) had been talking that the poor cat didn't have much of a life, living under the bed and being terrorized by Stella. It became apparent to us that she was not going to "get used to the dog" and this animal apartheid would continue with no change. We decided that it was time to end the experiment and take her to the Humane Society. I expect she will be adopted out to a good family. It is a "no kill" shelter, so she will stay there until she is adopted. It is much preferable to spending 14 hours or more in a bookcase cubby under a bed.

The vet and the vet assistant both said they thought a kitten would do much better with Stella. They are more adaptable and as long as they haven't had a bad encounter with a dog, should be pretty fearless. So, that is the road we are headed down.
