Maybe this is old news to you guys, but I came across a small article in "Electronic Business Today" concerning WebTV. A guy named Gerry Kauufhold, a multimedia analyst for market researcher In-Stat of Arizona , predicts a hybrid version of the net that will not be accessible via pc. For example, you may be watching tv and want more info on an ad or a program you're watching. Supposedly, with a hybrid web, you'd be able to click on a URL at the bottom of the screen and get a miniature , pop-up screen-in-a-screen with the desired info. Then you could surf around from that point as desired. Kaufhold says, "WebTV Networks Inc. has already convinced dozens of companies to optimize their Web sites specifically for WebTV." FWIW, he predicts a market with a compound annual growth rate of about 200% through the end of the decade.
