J A Cohen reduced her recomendation from 72 to 70 equities today. As the market has done in the past she was ignored. As it pertains to shorting companies I like Aurics saying "short old ladies and crippled children". Translated it means don't short good strong companies simply because you think they are overvalued, your internet stocks are prime examples of that. Secondly however remember that the trend is your friend. When the market moves down as it did from late August through Oct 8 it seemed like you couldn't miss. Of course the opposite has been true since Oct 8th in that dart boards have produced great results. The internuts are the extream example here. I'm a died in the wool short, however when the vix peaked on October 8th I started to go long and have jumped into the internut band wagon in November with the DBCC and MALL IPO spin deals. Go with the flow of the market and don't fight the trend. Watch the vix for signs of when to hit the exit and go the other way
