I understand the the "districting" argument. That will hold up in the short term--just don't think it can succeed as the country gradually becomes a majority minority 50 years out. You and I won't see it (barring some breakthru in life extension science), but gives me a sense of optimism long term.

Energy surplus will provide the funds to keep various safety nets in place.
