OT Nice try by him but I spent 9 years in Maine and there is no way they are ranked that High relative to he rest of the country. That info has to be wrong. I have travelled all over this country and many of those states are too high on the list compared to others. At least the Boise Idaho area had great schools and a large college completion rate compared to Maine. My daughter was being taught stuff she had learned two grades earlier when we transfered to Maine's system and she had to be moved up. Regardless, I heard a breakdown on the early voting and Kerry wasn't getting many of the college educated crowd. As a matter of fact, it was mostly race based with an interesting twist. Kerry was getting most of the African American early voters EXCEPT those with a college diploma. Hispanics were more split but again the college factor in the hispanics also swung in favor of Bush. They didn't mention White breakdowns by education or else I didn't hear it but I recall mumbling to myself that it would be ironic if the educated voted one way but the uneducated turned out to be the majority. The Wall street reaction to Kerry vs Bush was also a give away. When Kerry couldn't comprehend the link between education and jobs, I think that scared a lot of people. ========== Here is a breakdown by county. Other Than the northeast which is expected since it is liberal and Kerry's home turf, the Kerry vote was mainly urban with most of the states he carried actually going to Bush by land area. Even California was Hollywood, Silly Valley, Hippie land and San Diego with the rest going to Bush. usatoday.com Republicans aren't keen on a lot of "welfare programs" so of course they aren't going to get the inner city vote.
