Somewhat O.T.<g>

The FDA has ruled that food from certain cloned animals and their offspring is as safe as other food, opening the door for using the controversial technology in the U.S. food supply.

It confirmed preliminary findings in a final risk assessment on cloning on Tuesday.

According to them: "Extensive evaluation of the available data has not identified any subtle hazards that might indicate food consumption risks in healthy clones of cattle, swine or goats."

But the FDA said it didn't have enough information to make the same assertion about cloned sheep.<g>

I haven't looked into which companies may benefit from this FDA's ruling.<g>
