As I understand it, for the religious whack jobs, "original sin" doesn't attach until birth, so the unborn are without sin. That's a new one for me. There's good news in that. If the unborn have a soul but no original sin, they go straight to heaven for eternity. Which isn't a bad deal. Life on earth is pretty insignificant compared to eternity. My own personal opinion is that some men want to claim control of pregnant women's bodies once they are pregnant. Men AND women of this persuasion view pregnancy as a "miracle" rather than a biological function of animals. A very romantic notion. Marriage, love, children, etc. are very modern concepts. For thousands of years, it's been closer to "I'll give you three goats and a blanket for your daughter. Deal?" ... "Throw in a cooking vessel and we'll shake hands on it." jttmab
