Eric. What I do for my clients is research on certain areas in South America. My advice is before you invest in a certain area make sure the title is clean. Check to see if there were any previous concessions. If there was get certified copies of all documents of the old concession. Make sure they are in order and hold them in case of a title problem. Find out why the concession was abandoned and get certified documents showing why. If you have a certified copy you shouldn't have a problem and never let anyone know you have these documents until court time. Most Latinos think the gringos aren't bright enough to do this.

The problems with some groups is that they make a deal than release the news as soon as possible. The best way is to your take time and don't invest until you are certain that there is no problem. Legal work is expensive in Venezuela. There is no way around it.

For work up there I will check a friend of mine. What you need is somebody full-time checking at the Ministries. The big thing in Venezuela is permits. Several companies hire somebody full-time just completing permits. At the moment I am working on some areas in Argentina and Peru. I would love to work in Venezuela but my wife won't let me. She has to come with me. The women there are beautiful.

cheers
