Agreed. We know global warming is happening. All the metrics point to it. The only thing we don't know is if it is part of a micro trend started by human activity in the last 100 years accelerating through the present, or if it is part of some macro trend that occurs every few hundred thousand years.

I'm not an expert but...

The rate of change says something. The prior cooling and warming trends have been over longer periods. When you have a known probable cause like CO2, with a known source, humans, it seems to be ostrich like to claim no correlation. For some people it almost seems religious. God runs the world, so us little humans can't possible have any significant effect. I don't get it.

Systems that have lots of inertia, and are controlled by something involving integral action (the total accumulated gas in this case) are big danger signals. That is the problem with global warming.

I might actually benefit however. Some of the models predict the Pacific N.W will get more mild in both summer and winter, with more rainfall. Canada will no doubt have a real estate boom. If we can desalinate ocean water with solar energy, heck, we might turn the whole planet green. Unfortunately, many other species might lose their toehold.
