Allen, your restraint in the face of Kris Hatfield-type provocations is admirable. If it was me, I probably would have lashed out and responded as follows:

1. Western Digital is a $4 billion commodity business with profit margins of about 8%. Therefore, it's ludicrous to compare WDC's price-to-sales ratio to WIND.

2. Congratulations on your good fortune to have purchased WDC at the exact moment that it hit its lowest price since November '96. You now have a gain of approximately 78%. Of course, if you had bought WIND during the same period when it hit its low ($19.50 on April 22) you would be up over 100%.

Hatfield, if you're going to come here and dis the professor, you're going to have to show up with better stuff.
