tejek, check this article out. Looks like Christians really are in the majority in this country and Bush has emboldened them to become more active. I know you and others probably don't think this is a good thing, but I do. I think it is about time that a revival of morality reinvigorates this country. I have been complaining for years to my wife that I felt our country was decaying from within due to slackening morals.

GOPers always think the country is in varying states of decay and in need of a resurgence of morality. What's ironic is that the decay seems to be most pronounced among the religious right.

Anyway, that is what I love about this country most, it moves in cycles that at a macro level are fairly predictable. It's like a pendulum, if it goes to far to the left, it swings back to the right just as far. If we have moderate periods, then we experience stability and growth. But something about our system is fairly self-correcting. We are experiencing the swing to the right just about now. Hopefully, the next swing will be more moderation.

And wonder if it doesn't?
