Absolutly agree , the point I was making is that from a risk standpoint there is
no difference.I always read on this thread that the brokers will not
allow people to sell puts as they don't have enough experience. Yet they are allowed to buy
puts which they have a 10- 20 % chance of winning.

When I say that SHORT THE PUT IS LONG THE STOCK ,I mean the risk is exactly
the same. obviously the reward is greater on a $$ value on the upside.
In some cases the % return could be greater on PUTS due to the lower margin
