Amazing!

Hands-on video of PureView’s image stabilization

The Lumia 920 and 820 both feature optical image stabilization, meaning that the phone can steady your picture or video without the use of any digital software.

Optical stabilization is always better than digital stabilization, and it’s really incredible to see this technology come to smartphones. With it, the Lumia 920 and 820 can produce videos smoother than ever.

The stabilization also allows the Lumia to capture those low-light photos we’ve all been talking about. By stabilizing the shot, the camera can leave the shutter open for longer, therefore allowing in more light. Without any stabilization, any slight shakes while the shutter is open would cause motion blur in the photo.

As you can see in the video, the effect of the stabilization is quite noticeable. Stabilization kicks in when the user half-holds down the camera button in picture mode, or when the user starts recording a video.
