Accompanying that is a letter to West Thomson asking why the decisions of U.S. courts are not available in an unencumbered format

What a nice piece of marketing. Of course, the legal reporters sold by West, and other companies, are available free of charge to peruse at just about every law school, open to the public. You can also go straight to the courthouse and use the state library. Not only that, there are less expensive but less comprehensive legal research tools like Loislaw available, and websites like Findlaw.com.

These guys are advertising their own product, nothing more.
