In 1978, I think, I came across "Interview.." in the stacks at CSUF. My dad was head of acquisitions there and I spent lots of time wandering around. I thought it was a very good book, a real grabber. I haven't read anything else of hers because I'm still working off an enormous list my honors english teacher gave me in highschool. He jokingly entitled it "A Few Classics Every College Student Should Read." I only recently finished "The Tale of Gengi," which I am sure very few college students have read unless forced to. My list must be 6 pages, single spaced, front and back. I hope I live long enough to finish as I am a compulsive person. I have taken a few detours off my list. E. Annie Proux is marvelous, as is Jane Smiley and Maeve Binchy is fun.
