Nuinsco had staked all the mag highs that they felt reflected other ultramafic bodies to the south-southwest and north of the discovery within the gneissic terrain. They were not interested in staking to the north and west beyond the adjacent area which they applied for with Hydro Quebec through Exploration Services in Rouyn. Noranda applied and received approval to stake hundreds of claims north-west of Lac Rocher.
