Wall Street Journall Editorial Mocks Earthlink Chairman's Beliefs From Wall Street Journall, Tuesday February24, 1998, page A-22: Scientology is "a smallish cult that believes 75-million-year-old thetans are floating around our skulls.... the evil galactic overlord Xenu shipped frozen thetans to Teegeack, better known as planet Earth, dropping them down volcanoes and pulverizing them with hydrogen bombs and setting their souls adrift." Sufferin' Succotash! John Grandy says in this threadheader that *"EarthLink is virtually controlled by The Church Of Scientology."* Now we know what The Street thinks of Scientology! Can we- or The Street- take seriously anyone who believes this pile? Much less trust them to run a modern technology company? The Editorial also writes about how Scientology abuses privacy information to intimidate people. This makes me wonder if Earthlink's problems protecting the privacy of members (Check out earthstink.net for details) is just only incompetence, or maybe it's something a littl4e bit more nefarious?
