Maybe MC's skill was to keep the rats rowing the badly listing ship rather than leaving the ship as they tossed the unneeded rats over the side? I'm not sure this was worth $14M of our money or half a penny a share... but the integration results do seem to be good so maybe we got a deal? Still, it irks me how much these CEOs are paid... to be cheerleaders.

To be honest, I was more pissed off that they paid $800M in bribe money to "keep the top people" where it was really given to get those folks to cheerlead the merger as they were not going anywhere in the crappy economy for a new job. I felt it was unfair to use stockholder money for this.

Oh well...

HP really needed someone to wake them up that it is not a cushy job and they have to run/climb faster than the dirt falls into the hole they've dug to get out. CF may well prove to be the right, ruthless woman for the job.
