And the reality is, Mr. Straight Life and Chaz2, that if the Street decides SFE is more appealing due to this change in policy (which may directly be a little negative to the individual investor), then so be it.

In the end, the benefits of having the support of Goldman and Merrill from an individual investor's perspective far outways any benefit that may have been derived from participating in rights offerings vs direct share purchases. SFE's shareholders will benefit enormously from this new perspective in Street management.
