The what? Why have I not heard of this esteemed group before, nor the computer pundit Zuck?
>>> AOL Bid for Netscape Proves DoJ Allegations Against Microsoft Are Groundless, Trade Group Says
This gets my vote for most witless headline of the month. How being so weakened one must be taken over at a stock price far below the peak once reached is good fails me. How having the notoriously proprietary-prone AOL take over Netscape is good for the rest of us is unclear too. And any connection to whether MSFT did wrong in the past or needs to be controlled now is absurd.
On top of that, the DOJ suit is about multiple issues. And the bid may not even happen, as Sun is making waves.
I take this issuance from this (apparently, I'm guessing now) tame PR outlet to mean that MSFT is incredibly desperate at this stage for any shred of cover. Having lost for now the preliminary stages of the Java suit (injunction now in place), and looking to probably lose both the antitrust suit and other legal actions, coming up.
Of course for the lawyers and PR droids this is all to the good. Appeals, appeals, appeals. BS, BS, BS. Eventually they will make billions off all this. Is there any way to invest in the MSFT PR firm(s), BTW?
