a friend of mine up north raised two sons who became brilliant engineers. Was it the school system? Nope. When Mike saw a study saying 80 percent of Americans are geographically illiterate he went out and bought a world map and every night they would find and discuss a new country and review what they had discussed and learned about the previous countries. Active parents can raise well educated kids even in poor school systems and parents are what is sorely lacking today. Especially in the black community
