I think the reason is that both Dell and AMD want to insure a very successful intro of the product line. So they keep it at low end and get high unit sales. I don't think that is a reflection on AMD. Apparently Dell wants to have something to sell at the low end. They really are sliding down-market. Maybe by intention. Lots more units there, and maybe more total profit. Certainly more revenue.
