12:10 ET Veeco Instrmnts (VECO) 40.69 -1.22 (-2.9%): CSFB believes the company can achieve firm's Q2 (Jun) revenue and EPS estimates of $116.5 mln and $0.41 per share despite warning issued by company that orders would be in the $80-90 mln range versus prior guidance of $100-110 mln; street consensus of $0.44 could be difficult however; anticipates continued sluggishness in new orders and backlog; stock is still driven by the optical business, which could be sluggish possibly through the end of the year.

11:03 ET Nortel Networks (NT) 11.00 -0.05 (-0.5%): Sources at Lehman telling us that firm sees potential for further negative catalysts ahead, including possibility of additional restructuring comments in the next several weeks -- though Lehman thinks investors are already anticipating such news.
