The deal calls for additional 1250 K to be done.

Frankly, this is no big deal and advantageous in narrowing down a drill location. It will have to be done sooner or later. If the exisitng siesmic is for example; in 1 K sq. they can now go back and narrow it to 1/2 K sq in a particular area of interest. This gives the geologist a better idea of the possible producing formations and speculate as to where the best spot to penetrate the formation of interest. Remember, AIPN has to select 10% and give the rest back for re-auction. They surely will want to evaluate the whole lease before that decision.

As to your latter statement, they have to find it in commericial quanities to ship in a pipeline that is already full. With Tengiz vast investment already; Tengiz is, for now, king of the hill and top priority.
