DJ Rambus Verdict -3: In Other Court Battles

As reported Monday by the Wall Street Journal, Judge Payne dismissed 54 of
Rambus' patent infringement claims and threw out the remaining three claims on
Friday.

The judge also ruled that the trial could proceed on counterclaims by
Infineon.

Rambus also is in separate court battles with chip makers Micron Technology
Inc. (MU) and Hyundai Electronics Industries Co. (Q.HEL) over the memory
technology. Those companies have sued to invalidate the patents on the
technology, called DDR-SDRAM.

The cases are important to Rambus' existing and future revenue; royalties
from the technology accounted for about 77% of the company's revenue over the
past two quarters.
