Probably not. It's always been our strength. We have the "breadbasket" and that has been the most significant element of the historic economic growth of the country. We didn't have to worry about food.

re: And many the subsidies (and indirect aid like import barriers) are not targeted towards "food security" but towards whoever has the most effective lobbyist. Many types of food are excluded (without causing any supply worries), others get lavish subsidies.
