read the CEO's biography....... proteoplex.com Germany's Merck buys US research company Tuesday August 12, 2:53 am ET FRANKFURT, Aug 12 (Reuters) - German drugmaker Merck KGaA (XETRA:MRCG.DE - News) said on Tuesday its U.S. unit EMD Biosciences Inc had acquired St.Louis-based research and development company ProteoPlex, Inc, but did not give financial details. Merck said in a statement privately-owned ProteoPlex brought a high level of sophisticated technology with it, and fit well with Merck's own proteomics research programme. ProteoPlex was founded in 2001 with the former management, R&D personnel and technology of Incyte Corporation (NasdaqNM:INCY - News).
