I too apparently bought too soon !

I have theories ! They say the market is dominated by hedge funds and financial institutions following similar hedging strategies. They say, beware of "convertibles", because hedging will drive prices lower. Agnico's problems seem to date from 2002 when a large convertible debenture was issued.

That's alright ! If prices have been suppressed by hedging then today's prices offer that much better values. AND the convertible debenture is redeemable in February 2006. (The redemption will probably be a non-event simply formalising shares already "issued" by shorting.... that's my guess).
