The homeowner will be nobilled. People kill people in defense of their homes all the time. Usually the dead guy is guilty and little attention is paid to the stories. There was a case in Houston years ago involving a guy from Scotland visiting and staying with some folks in their home. He was unfamiliar with the city and when he went out drinking one night and took a cab home, he got the wrong neighborhood and house. Went into someone's backyard and tried to get in through the patio door. His relatives in Scotland were horrified that he got killed.
