The only competition to AOL is MSN, Prodigy and Compuserve.

MSN is a shell (like any ISP); prodigy is a disaster and compuserve wants only business customers.

AOL is becoming a monopoly; barriers to entry are rising dramatically, and the market is beginning to recognize this and value the "other revenue" streams coming on line.

Also, AOL is very creative in figuring out how to "leverage" its 8million users -- in a way that benefits aol and the users (e.g., the telesave deal).

If I can get 8 cents/minute, I'd switch from ATT.
